Warren Tavern — Scioto Township, Delaware County, Ohio

A noteworthy, enigmatic, and extended-neglected constructing. The 2008 Ohio Historic Sites Dictionary describes its historical past:

Using its identify from an early proprietor and landowner, the Warren Tavern Advanced represents the sizeable and distinguishable entity of a very well-preserved pre-Civil War rural tavern advanced. It consists of an early tavern (pre-1845), springhouse, [log] barn, granary, orchard, and ice pond site. Noteworthy architectural attributes of the tavern contain its odd facade orientation to the gable conclude of the setting up, and its stepped gable structure. A corbeled brick cornice operates beneath the eaves . . . and kinds a return on to the facade. The interior has unique wide plank flooring, woodwork, iron components (latches and hinges), fireplaces, mantels (some altered), and wall stenciling extent [sic].

The blurb fails to mention another of the tavern’s quirks—its corner pavilions, which resemble Mount Oval‘s drover’s rooms.
