The Buzzards Bay-14 was created by L.Francis Herreshoff in 1945 as a follow-on to the Herreshoff 12 1/2 made by his father, N.G. Herreshoff. www.herreshoff.org/hmm/index.html
These are gorgeous, classic wooden boats. We ordinarily create them with a fir or purpleheart stem and keel, mahogany transom (observed in this picture) and western pink cedar planking. The boats are ordinarily a two 12 months challenge for us.
The Northwest Faculty of Wooden Boatbuilding is located in Port Hadlock WA and is a non-public, accredited non-gain vocational faculty.
Our mission is to train and maintain the wonderful artwork of picket boatbuilding and conventional maritime crafts.
