Bronze chairs by Ed Kopel at Ave H Station

MTA Arts for Transit’s most recent undertaking in Brooklyn is at the landmarked station residence at Avenue H on the Q Line in Midwood. To rejoice this uniquely charming web site, artist Ed Kopel animates the exterior of the creating with his new piece, Brooklyn Bucolic, transforming an unused colonnade into an energetic local community porch.

The artwork, together the north and south facades of the Station House, is composed of informal groupings of cast bronze rocking chairs, anchored in position. Every single has a exceptional patina to make them more inviting and appropriate to this historic porch placing. Fabricated by JP Parnas Woodworking and Polich Tallix, the chairs range in measurement accommodating a wide range of customers. Each and every chair is subtly different with a wide variety of weaves, colours and patterns.
