This sequence of photos demonstrates the sequence of functions involved in the making of typical body and box joints. Included in this article are the stop lap joint, the cross halving joint, the mitre bridle joint, the finger or comb joint, the mortice and tenon joint and the dovetail joint.

All S3 Craft & Structure pupils perform on a box task so that they can produce some simple woodworking techniques. This 12 months S4 have all been encouraged to function on frame and carcase design procedures. This is largely due to the large numbers staying presented this session but also due to the reality that we have purchase a ton of superior good quality hardwoods at a cut price value. For these reasons a far more prescriptive approach has been taken than the previous number of years. This really should aid make the huge quantity of projects a little bit easier to regulate even though also exhibiting the supplies and pupils’ talent to most effective result.
