We had a blast at the initially meetup for Tam Makers, our new makerspace in Mill Valley. We hosted this no cost party at the wooden store at Tamalpais Superior University in Mill Valley on June 8, 2016.
A assorted team of folks came to the go to the shop, learn about our lessons and discuss how to expand our maker community. Participants ranged from experienced artists, technologists, makers and woodworkers, to people today fascinated in understanding new expertise, as properly as superior faculty and middle school learners and their moms and dads.
We opened the store at 6pm and individuals started off to join appropriate away, checking out some of our demos, demonstrating off modern initiatives and touring the room. At 7pm, we gave a presentation on Tam Makers, and talked about our first courses, meetups and tools for grown ups and youth. We then reviewed these courses as a team and been given some genuinely beneficial opinions.
Most persons had been very intrigued in taking part in Tam Makers and employing the makerspace frequently. They also favored the combine of courses, ranging from maker art to know-how and woodworking. Some folks signed up for classes on the place and most needed to sign up for more meetups.
