This is a closeup of a modern Incense Burner and Storage Box I produced.
The box by itself is hollowed out from a little block of leftover walnut, while the lid is labored from an intriguing piece of wavy-hunting maple I experienced re-identified in my workshop.
The trough you see below running up the middle of the lid is for any ashes that could fall off the incense stick when it’s fuming away. (Look at out other recent images of mine to see how the incense adhere is established up on the box.)
The curved stripes in the sliding lid of the box are quite thinly lower strips of walnut and maple.
