We experienced a blast at the initially meetup for Tam Makers, our new makerspace in Mill Valley. We hosted this cost-free celebration at the wood shop at Tamalpais High Faculty in Mill Valley on June 8, 2016.
A numerous group of folks arrived to the pay a visit to the shop, learn about our classes and go over how to improve our maker community. Members ranged from expert artists, technologists, makers and woodworkers, to people intrigued in learning new techniques, as perfectly as substantial school and center faculty pupils and their dad and mom.
We opened the store at 6pm and individuals started to join proper absent, examining out some of our demos, exhibiting off recent jobs and touring the room. At 7pm, we gave a presentation on Tam Makers, and talked about our to start with classes, meetups and equipment for grown ups and youth. We then talked about these packages as a team and been given some actually beneficial opinions.
Most men and women were really interested in collaborating in Tam Makers and working with the makerspace regularly. They also preferred the mix of courses, ranging from maker art to technological innovation and woodworking. Some folks signed up for lessons on the spot and most wished to sign up for much more meetups. Lots of available to volunteer as effectively. A person individual claimed this event had a fantastic community feeling, compared with more commercially inspired makerspaces.
