The platters I have despatched to this exhibition mix quite a few ceramic traditions. The to start with is, The Palace Artwork Pot. Palace Art Pots were manufactured to display wealth and energy. They were produced to explain to a story, to commemorate an function or a particular person, and to demonstrate skill and challenge the talents of the artisans who designed them. The 2nd tradition is the Fish Platter. Fish platters have been a staple of the Neo Arts and Crafts Motion of the 1950s and 60s. Humor as a result of the use of the visual pun was a mainstay of the California Funk movement. Humor in clay has a custom as old as the use of the material. I have generally felt that humor has been provided limited shift as a really serious emotion. In the perform introduced I have tried out to inject some humor into the ornamental / commemorative object. I have tried using to substitute historic patterns with objects reduced to sample. Some of the objects are extensions of my environment or reflections of particular passions. The clay system, a red earthenware, is greatly potted and helps make no secrete of its variants and flaws.
