Stunning artists’ notion of an early LEM/CSM structure (ca. 1962), depicting the Translunar Insertion (Injection?) (TLI)/Translunar Coastline (TLC) section of the mission. The put in S-IVB(?) stage can be found drifting off to the lessen remaining. The meticulous interest to depth is amazing. Excellent artwork all over again by the dynamic duo of Ludwik Źiemba and William A. Collopy.

I’ve questioned-marked identification of the spent phase as remaining an ‘S-IVB’. Was a phase really named this kind of all through this period of time of the enhancement/configuration of the (Innovative?) Saturn V/C-5…or what ever it was? I get bewildered fairly often about this…and so numerous other factors at present.
