GWR Sleeping Car or truck No 9038
This mentor was a single of 3 released by the GWR in 1897 to carry First Class passengers among Paddington and the port of Fishguard and the Irish ferry. The mentor was in provider right until 1931.
In 1933 the system was offered and became section of a bungalow, investing the future fifty yrs under a tiled roof. In 1985 this historic car was rescued and came to the West Somerset Railway for restoration.
With a restored GWR underframe (chassis) and substantially inside woodwork donated from a coach (No 9039) by the Excellent Western Culture at Didcot, the mentor has been restored to 1925 condition by the West Somerset Railway Heritage Have faith in.
The coach is commonly open to perspective in the Gauge Museum at Bishops Lydeard Station.
