Sliver is a 62-foot sloop made as a minimalist working day sailor. It was intended by the renowned designer Robert Perry for a consumer here in the Pacific Northwest. www.perryboat.com/

It is a strip-planked wood hulled composite day sailor remaining designed by Modern course learners at the Northwest Faculty of Wood Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock WA. Construction commenced in April, 2011. This is the deck mould, looking ahead from the stern. The deck and residence will be built upside-down of fiberglass-included foam on this surface, which is in switch supported by the molds established up on the building jig.

Bob Perry has been quite delighted with the School’s development on the boat, and has remarked far more than at the time that he feels we are carrying out a superlative work on the building.

In this photo, you can see that the building area for the deck and property is set up on an independent set of CAD-lower molds, still left. when the hull is to be crafted on its personal established of molds, suitable.

The hull is western pink cedar sheathed in 24-ounce fiberglass. WEST System products have been applied in the course of the project. www.westsystem.com/ss/
