I built a tailor made Tansu-design and style Tv set stand for my Pioneer Kuro plasma and
PMC LB1 middle channel speaker. The speaker is so substantial I experienced almost
no selection but to make a customized stand. I also employed this as an chance to educate myself some woodworking techniques.
This is not a serious Tansu, and I am certain a authentic Tansu creator would
cringe at the design and (absence of) craftsmanship. Up close, you can
see a ton of problems I built (inadequate cuts, plywood tear-out, glue
squeeze-out, etc), but at the relaxed Tv viewing length, I can live
with it. For now.
The whole stand is built from a one sheet of affordable birch plywood,
the “macaroni and cheese of woodworking.” It truly is finished with 4
coats of Tung Oil, but the birch is just not that rather, so I’ll possible
make it darker at some point.
