I am working with Geo Monley to build a general public makerspace around his wood shop at Tam Superior and mature a community through a combination of maker lessons and open hrs for grownups and teenagers.
With his assist, I am also setting up a ‘maker art cart’ to showcase the get the job done of our college students and collaborators. His woodworking workshop, referred to as ‘You Construct It’, is a great instance of what we could do with maker programs for grownups: in this weekly night session, he offers us tools and assistance to make our very own woodworking assignments. Right now, he gave me very good guidance on how to add casters to my art cart’s legs.
Geo and I prepare to educate a weekly maker program for middle-faculty learners this spring, to construct a Metropolis of the Foreseeable future collectively, combining arts and electronics. We will gain from his existing course with higher faculty college students, who are also making an animatronics town known as Makerfield.
