No-one will at any time see this carved element except they go seeking underneath the bench top rated. See the massive notch slash out of the back again piece? That was a blunder. I intended to have this stretcher piece sit flush with the prime at the back, and I was heading to slash down the rest of the stretcher to the top of the front of the bench.
The front of the bench is a piece of 62mm planed timber but the back again piece, that I had lying around, is 150mm deep. I finished up obtaining to taper the stretcher from entrance to back. I could have accomplished a straight line, but made the decision to indulge myself a minor little bit.
I stuffed the notch after the bench top was in put.
