The Crossroads challenge is an initiative to make an ecologically sustainable local community, with outstanding amenities for medieval routines.
Our aim is to establish a medieval village on our property at Yass, New South Wales, Australia. We would like to foster conventional crafts and expertise, set up partnerships with a wide variety of nationwide organisations for pre-industrial crafts, for instance in woodwork, pottery, blacksmithing and embroidery.
The actual physical internet site of Crossroads is 453 acres of land, and the prepare is to create the site to have Visitor cabins to accommodate 60 individuals, a kitchen/dining corridor, and associated facilities, a duplicate of the modest French medieval castle, Chalencon, and its connected village, a household subdivision with a medieval theme and a centre for Heritage Crafts.
The website is presently remaining utilised regularly by medievalists for fairs, festivals and actions these as archery as perfectly as weddings and events, and is offered for use by the public.
