The Crossroads venture is an initiative to make an ecologically sustainable community, with great services for medieval pursuits.
Our target is to develop a medieval village on our residence at Yass, New South Wales, Australia. We want to foster standard crafts and techniques, establish partnerships with a selection of countrywide organisations for pre-industrial crafts, for instance in woodwork, pottery, blacksmithing and embroidery.
The actual physical web site of Crossroads is 453 acres of land, and the plan is to create the website to have Visitor cabins to accommodate 60 folks, a kitchen area/eating hall, and affiliated amenities, a replica of the smaller French medieval castle, Chalencon, and its affiliated village, a household subdivision with a medieval topic and a centre for Heritage Crafts.
The site is presently being applied often by medievalists for fairs, festivals and pursuits this sort of as archery as nicely as weddings and events, and is readily available for use by the community.
