Farmhouse, mid to late C18 (allegedly 1760), with some later-C20 alterations.
Elements: Crimson brick in Flemish Bond with slate roof
EXTERIOR: Three-bay home of two storeys as well as attic with a slate roof. Polite front façade with very good top quality tightly-jointed brickwork, a central doorway with central door in a doorcase of panelled pilasters, frieze and cornice with segmental pediment about, and symmetrically organized home windows, 1 to either side of doorway with a few to very first ground. Sash home windows replaced by current aspect-hung casements just after 1975. The rear façade is much more vernacular in character and retains its first three-, 4- and 5-mild facet-hung casements. Attached to the remaining aspect of the house is a a person- and two-storey brick extension of unknown (but it is considered quite modern day) day. A big brick porch to the centre of the rear façade is of the late C20 and not of historic interest.
Interior: Internally the main property has an irregular double-pile approach, with a narrow central corridor and front and rear rooms to either aspect. The easy primary staircase rises via the home to the third, attic, storey. On the ground floor a great deal initial woodwork survives like six-panelled doorways and cupboards flanking front eating area chimney breast. There is similarly a pretty comprehensive survival of woodwork on the next and attic floors. Two almost certainly C18 doors via the original still left gable wall ensure map proof that the existing extension replaced an previously construction abutting the aspect of the key home. Primary fireplaces have not survived. Cellars beneath throughout full depth of home.
Record: Cleobury Farmhouse stands on the principal historic crossroads in the village, opposite the mentioned Manor Dwelling. 2006 gross sales particulars (plausibly) date the residence to 1760, even though the evidence for this was unstated.
SUMMARY OF Importance: This is a great illustration of a modest, afterwards C18, brick farmhouse which retains both of those its principal (and distinct) front and rear facades as very well its inside program and a lot of of its primary internal fittings.
