The Northwest Faculty of Wooden Boatbuilding www.nwboatschool.org hosted the 1st SCAMP Camp (sm) in Port Townsend WA at the Northwest Maritime Middle August 6th – 17th, 2012.
The study course was taught by New Zealand designer John Welsford, assisted by compact boat adventurer Howard Rice, and supported by shipwrights Scott Jones and Jason Bledsoe of the Maritime Center.
New Zealand designer John Welsford designed SCAMP for Modest Craft Advisor Journal, hence it’s identify – Compact Craft Advisor Magazine Venture – SCAMP.
6 of the 10 kit builds getting set up on Sunday, August 5th, 2013.
John intended the 11-foot 11-inch boat to be effortlessly trailerable. It has a lug rig and water ballast. It can be developed from plans or from the kit, witnessed here, lower by Turnpoint Types in Port Townsend WA.
