RICHMOND
Arrival of the Rebel Typical Lee.
HE IS ENTHUSIASTICALLY GREETED.

New York Herald Rooms, Richmond, Va., April 16 – 2 A.M.
Constructive arrival of Typical R. E. Lee in Richmond.
“Normal Robert E. Lee, these days commanding the rebel armies, actually arrived in Richmond yesterday at 50 %-past three o’clock. It was nicknamed “The Mess,” and, just before Mrs. Lee and her daughters arrived, was occupied by the Common (when he was in city), Typical Custis Lee, Significant Coxe, Captain Ferdinand C. Hutter, Robert Shirley Carter, Chapman Leigh and other folks — a merry occasion of young officers, who made the property ring with jest and track, and who scoffed at threat and defeat.
