This fairytale castle, a wonderful case in point of Scottish Baronial architecture, appears to have grown normally out of the rolling hills. The fantastic tower stands just as it did when completed in 1626.
The castle is dwelling to a fantastic collection of family members portraits and primary plaster ceilings. There is also a great deal initial Jacobean woodwork and some beautiful home furniture, which include the ‘Craigievar table’.
Bordering the castle are considerable parkland grounds with two waymarked walks. There is also a small Victorian kitchen garden and a Scottish glen backyard.
Craigievar is an iconic tower property, among the greatest preserved and the most beloved in Scotland.
