I a short while ago purchased an ECE bowsaw, and as frequently the handles ended up varnished about the not-so-sleek surface left by the devices. I scraped the varnish off the two handles, then carved some aesthetic and ergonomic information on the flatsawn one particular: broke the symmetry in the tackle form, manufactured a hollow curve into the close grain, and included a few chamfers.

Up coming is to duplicate the variations to the other tackle, and utilize some tung oil. Hopefully the good quartersawn beech grain will pop nicely…
