I am organizing to make a workbench in the 17th century French custom. However, you require a workbench to make a workbench, so I have set up this momentary space by adding a sheet of thick maple ply to the top of an existing incredibly strong but tough created-in bench. I also additional a skirt of fir 2×6, which with a backing board should really make it possible for a holdfast to fit on the entrance. I will also be adding dogholes, but am not scared to just screw down battens and planestops anywhere I require them. I will never trouble with significantly of a vise, both, as I have some ways around that.
