The Carolina Spritsail Skiff is a standard skiff. These skiffs had been historically built on on Harker’s Island, North Carolina, on the Outer Banking companies. The traces ended up taken for the boat by M.B. Alford in July of 1976 from a boat constructed in 1911 then owned by Dr R. Borden and now in the Standard Small Craft selection at the Hampton Mariners Museum in Beaufort NC. The Museum’s file range for the ideas is #135.

In the mid-1960’s, Julian Guthrie, a nicely-regarded standard boatbuilder on Harker’s Island built a skiff for the new boat’s operator, which the owner employed and appreciated for virtually 10 yrs prior to advertising. This Carolina Spritsail Skiff is becoming designed by pupils in the 2014 Conventional Tiny Craft course less than the direction of Master Teacher Jeff Hammond.
