NTSB Closing Incident Report:
“The recently crafted yacht Baaden was being released stern initially down the Fidalgo Marina boat ramp in Anacortes, Washington, with 8 shipyard personnel on board when it capsized
just after moving into the h2o at 2050 on Sunday, May well 18, 2014. The yacht was salvaged but was declared a whole constructive loss, estimated at $10 million. A few shipyard staff who were being
trapped underneath decks for up to half an hour have been treated for small cuts and accidents at community hospitals. No pollution was documented.
New Globe Yacht Builders began design of the Baaden in December 2011, doing work from an existing 80-foot-hull mildew constructed in 2002 by Northern Maritime. Like other big Northern
Marine yachts, the vessel was personalized intended. The 80-foot mould was lengthened in the midsection and stem, the bow was provided more flare, and a swim system was extra. The
ensuing 85-foot vessel was specified Northern Marine design 8501 and was the initial of its sort. New World explained the Baaden as acquiring professional fishing vessel roots in an 85-foot
