Melrose is a Greek revival-style mansion located in Natchez, Mississippi that was built in the mid-1800s by the John T. McMurran family. The home consists of a central hall that leads to a dining room, drawing room, parlor, library, back hall, storage rooms, and service rooms. The interior doorways are framed by Ionic columns and sunburst-type woodwork above, and the central and back hall contain painted floor cloths that are original to the house. One of the unique features of the home is a punkah located in the dining room.

Guided tours of the home provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about the lifestyle of the pre-Civil War American South and the harsh realities of slave life in an estate setting. The home sits on 80 acres of land that is maintained by the National Park Service and is a well-preserved piece of American history.
